rain vs. snow

Yesterday, I expressed my concern about whether or not I’ll be able to handle colder temperatures again.  After today, I say “Bring it on!”  Sorry, fellow Michiganders.  I can handle just about anything, but rain and 40 degree temps are where I draw the line.

I went to Starbucks this morning as I do every Wednesday morning, undeterred by the rain: wild horses couldn’t keep me from Starbucks on a Wednesday morning!  On the way back to the office, I decided that even though I find rain full of romance and beauty, I much prefer snow.  Rain is both cold and wet, while snow is just cold.  I suppose if the temperature were in the sixties or higher, I wouldn’t mind the rain, but rain in 40 degree temps isn’t very pleasant.

The trip to Starbucks was worth it, pitiful weather and all.  Plus I have the satisfaction of knowing that “neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor hail shall keep [me] from [my] appointed rounds!”
