cec in the city – episode 10

June 15, 2012

Last year at the infamous Schwartz Family Reunion, my cousin Lindze* and I discussed the possibility of her coming for a visit after she graduated from high school.  That discussion became a reality this week when, after all those months of planning and waiting, Lindze finally arrived!!

The weather was less-than-ideal at the beginning of the week, but there was still plenty of fun to be had!  The first two nights, Lindze and I walked up the street to take in skyline along the beautiful waterfront view of Weehawken.  We got drenched on Tuesday night, but even buckets of rain, heavy fog, and intense winds couldn’t diminish Lindze’s excitement.  Wednesday’s evening stroll was much nicer, as the storm had finally passed and the clouds made for lovely photos.

We’ve mostly stayed around the Times Square/Bryant Park area since I had to work during the day.  My being stuck in the office hasn’t hindered Lindze’s explorations too much.  Karl’s sisters and sister-in-law graciously took turns coming in to the city to keep Lindze company.  And she and I have been able to meet up at lunch and after work for exciting cousin adventures.

So far, we’ve had a FREAKIN’ BLAST!!!  Seriously.  We’ve spent more time laughing than anything!  Even though we are extended cousins, it doesn’t change the fact that we are oh-so related, which makes everything pretty much hilarious!

I’m doing my best to make sure Lindze has a full NYC experience.  Now that the weekend is here, more adventures and hilarity await!

*Technically, Lindze is my second cousin once removed, but for the sake of efficiency, I simply refer to her as cousin.
